We researched all you can do around the area of Costa Daurada for you, so during your trip you can focus on having the best time!

Siurana

You can’t miss out on visiting Siurana! It’s considered the most beautiful town in Tarragona, so it will definitely not leave you indifferent - it almost looks cut out of a fairy tale. The town is only accessible by car. From Tarragona is about an hour car ride taking the T-11, N-420 exit, then the C-242 and lastly the T-3225 that will take you to the town.

  • Go to the top of the town to its viewer and you will understand why Siurana is often compared to a fairy tale - an astonishing view of the river and mountains. We recommend you to stay until the afternoon to watch the sunset there.
  • Another great spot within the area is its lake. A wonderful place for a family picnic!
  • If you are looking for a more adventurous experience, you can always try one of the routes in Roca Foradada's mountain to enjoy a typical Catalonian landscape.

Tamarit

This lovely town is on the east side of Costa Daurada and it definitely has some beautiful spots and family-friendly activities to make for the most fun visit!

  • Go to Tamarit's beach to see its castle looking down from a cliff! A unique landscape you won’t want to miss that you can't see anywhere else.
  • Within the town, there’s also Jungle Trek, an adventure park with safe and fun zip lines for both kids and parents. The ticket from 19.50€ to 22.50€ depending on the age of your children and 25.50€ for adults.
  • You can also visit the amphitheatre to see the history within the city; the entrance is from 3.30€ to 11.05€ depending on how much of the area you want to see (large families have a discount).

Les Tres Cales

Within the region of Tarragona, you have a beautiful area known as Las Tres Cales or The Three Creeks. As its name indicates, they are three creeks one next to the other – each with a particular beauty and astonishing scenery, a real Mediterranean dream.

  • We recommend Cala Sant Jordi to start off your morning, a paradisiac creek surrounded by rocks, with beautiful clear water and even an open-air restaurant right on the sand to enjoy some refreshing beverages by the sea. Within the area you can even find more than these three creeks, smaller ones with rocks instead of sands – so quiet and tranquil that it will feel as though you are there alone!
  • We love to make the day out of it by moving to one of the other two creeks after a while, either Cala Vidre or Cala les Ampolles. That way you explore the area with your family and you get to see the nice difference and beauty between these Mediterranean creeks.

Delta de l’Ebre

The biggest water habitat in Catalonia and it will make for the best family excursion on your holiday! This area of greenery and the beautiful Mediterranean Sea will take a whole day and even longer if you want to explore everything there is to see. However, we will recommend you some of the best spots so you can have the best family day out.

  • Casa de Fusta or Wood House. A charming house right next to the beach with a lot of history and very emblematic within Delta de l’Ebre. The perfect place to start as inside it you can get all the information regarding the specific activities that might be happening around the area on the day you are visiting.
  • Explore the beautiful virgin beaches from the area such as Playa del Fangar, Playa del Riumar, Playa del Marquesa, Playa de los Eucaliptos, Playa del Trabucador.
  • Navigate the ocean in Sant Carles de la Ràpita! A very common and fun way to explore the natural habitat of Delta de l’Ebre. Book a sailboat trip while the captain explains all there is to know about the area. It depends on the boat and activity, but it costs around 9-13€ per person – great for a family trip on a budget.

Cambrils

There are many charming towns within Costa Daurada and we recommend you to visit Cambrils for the nicest and tranquil family experience.

  • The first stop is its beautiful port and promenade. We love to walk around the coast line with the little ones and checking the handmade local stores around. You will see that there are many families with small kids there enjoying a nice day out: sunbathing at the beach, enjoying a ice-cream by the port or eating some Paella at one of its many great restaurants.
  • You can also find Parc de Samà in the outskirts of Cambrils. It’s a 14-hectare park with endless opportunities for the most wonderful family experience. There is a maze that the kids always love, local animals and flora species that the park is set to preserve, and everything in a beautiful scenery of green. The ticket for your entire family (2 parents and 2 to 5 kids) is 35€ so it’s great for a trip on a budget. The bus called Busplana will take you from the centre of the town directly to the park (it’s an 8–10-minute ride). It makes for the perfect beach substitute if you want a change of scenery.

Hospitalet de l’Infant

Experience Costa Daurada as the locals would! This town is very frequented by families with small kids thanks to its tranquility and calm beach.

  • We love to go to its beautiful soft-sand beach called Platja de l’Hospitalet or Crystal Beach that comes from its clean crystal water. Alongside it there's a nice promenade to sit and enjoy a delicious Meditarrenean meal by the Sea.
  • During the summer, there are endless activities for kids around the area as well: a bounce castle in the water, a carnival near the port and stands with handmade jewellery that make for the best souvenir.

L’Ampolla

Visit this southern Mediterranean town, great to spend the day as a family exploring another side of the typical Costa Daurada landscapes.

  • There are many beaches worth checking out such as Platja Cap Roig, Platja Avellanes, Cala Maria and more.
  • In case you want a more active fun, you can find Parc Deltaventur. An adventure park with a wide variety of activities for kids of all ages: swimming on its lake, paintball fight, water games, water bouncing castles, and more.

Salou

This town is one of the most well-known places within Costa Daurada and we definitely recommend you to visit it! There are many activities and spots to check out as a family with small kids.

  • Fonts Ornamentals (Ornamental Fountains) is an especially great spot to see during the night as it makes a beautiful light and water show. You can check it out from spring break until the 30th of June during the weekend at 10:30pm and from there until September every day at 11 pm.
  • Camí de rondes. The name translates to parapet walk and it’s a seafront throughout Salou and the outskirts of the town. It’s accessible for strollers and a great way to visit the town and Costa Daurada’s scenery. You can walk through Cala Llenguadets, Cala Font, Cala Vinya, Cala Crancs or Cala Penya Tallada. The good thing is you can head back whenever you or your kids get tired and go for a delicious and traditional lunch at one of the restaurants located throughout the coastline.

La Ràpita

One of the most beautiful areas within Delta del Ebro and Costa Daurada and it makes for a great family day out! A fairly unkown town amongst foreigners and it's one of the prettiest spots.

  • It has the biggest port of Delta del Ebro. Great for a nice stroll with your kids or to enjoy some quiet time with the soft sound of the water moving as your background music.
  • The beautiful Garbí Park, with a bright green grass and tall palm trees. It's a great place to lay down your towel, some good snacks and cold beverages and relax under the nice shade of the trees.
  • In this town they make a delicious variety of fish and shellfish meals. Try some of the restaurants or beach bars by Platja de Garbí.

Prades

Visit Prades to see a very traditional Catalonian town within the country side region of Tarragona. There are lots of great spots to see as a family, some with incredible views of the mountains and, of course, the green scenery typical of this side of Catalonia.

  • We recommend you to check the Ermita de l’Albellera or Abellera’s Hermitage, a small construction with lots of history and an astonishing view of Capafonts and Farena, some of the mountains from the area that make for a memorable and amazing landscape.
  • The best way to experience this town is by wondering around its historic streets and seeing what a typical Catalonian town looks like, it will already make for the best family day out on a budget!
